Mekdesse EllisonCongratulations to our amazing Student Information Assistant Mekdesse Ellison who was recognized as the FCPS 2021 Region 3 Outstanding School-Based Operational Employee and one of the six finalists for the FCPS Outstanding School-Based Operational Employee at this year's FCPS Honors event, held at Jiffy Lube Live on June 9th.

Mekdesse has a way of making everyone that she encounters feel welcomed. Kind, humble and hard-working are just a few of the words staff would use to describe her. Her smile and thoughtful demeanor encourage positivity in every setting she encounters. Mekdesse believes that everyone should be treated with respect and compassion, and she practices that through her daily interactions with families when enrolling students for school. Understanding that everyone’s background and situations are different, she does her best to be flexible and supportive while trying to make families feel comfortable during the enrollment process. Mekdesse is someone who dedicates herself to her work wholeheartedly and will not hesitate to offer assistance in any way she can.
