Congratulations to Mr. Allen Dunn and Ms. Kristine Griswold on being recognized as the June 2022 Region 3 FCPS CARES Recipients of the Month by the FCPS Department of Human Resources!

The FCPS CARES Program is an opportunity for parents, staff, and community members to recognize FCPS employees for going above and beyond to help others and show they care. We invite you to submit your story below, so we can all acknowledge the good work of FCPS employees.

Below are the write-up submitted by colleague Ms. Chelsy Pelletier-Blain.

Mr. Dunn has consistently gone above and beyond in helping our students and families. I'm a FCPS School Social Worker who worked directly with him the entire school year. In my professional experience,  I have not worked with a pair of counselors who are so in sync and committed to helping students receive the individual and group support they need to be academically successful. He has introduced our school community to many resources that can help students to regain emotional regulation, learn coping skills and return to class easily after a crisis situation. Thank you, Mr. Dunn!

Ms. Griswold has consistently gone above and beyond in helping our students and families. I'm an FCPS School Social Worker who worked directly with her the last two years. In my professional experience,  I have not worked with a counselor who is so caring and committed to helping students receive the individual and group support they need to be academically successful and emotionally regulated.  She knows how to advocate for student needs and provides stellar advice to students and staff alike. She has introduced our school community to the mentor program which has been successful in improving attendance. She implemented the Kimochi program in the classrooms in order to help children learn feeling identification and coping skills. Furthermore, she modeled to teachers how to bring SEL lessons into the classroom. Ms. Griswold responds to any crisis in a timely manner and she helps students return to class easily after a crisis situation. Thank you, Ms. Griswold, for your outstanding contributions to Groveton!
